“Ours is an undisciplined age. The old disciplines are breaking down. Above all, the discipline of divine grace is derided as legalism or is entirely unknown to a generation that is largely illiterate in the Scriptures. We need the rugged strength of Christian character that can only come from discipline.”
A truth that’s told with poor intent beats all the lies one can invent.
When we take our eyes off of the Creator and worship the created, this is idolatry and pride. Narcissus was mesmerized by his own appearance, and Lucifer himself, the most beautiful of all angels wanted more. Our adoration and worship must be to the Creator, Abba Father, Oh Holy God.
“Your beauty should not consist of outward things like elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold ornaments or fine clothes. Instead, it should consist of what is inside the heart with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very valuable in God’s eyes. For in the past, the holy women who put their hope in God also beautified themselves in this way, submitting to their own husbands, just as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. You have become her children when
you do what is good and are not frightened by anything alarming.”
I’d rather have great character than impressive credentials. My character is what I will take to heaven, but my credentials are fleeting. My credentials only benefit me – but my character equips me to benefit others. I choose to invest my life in building Godly Character over the pursuit of worldy credentials that will turn to dust so that I can help women build Godly legacies for their homes and families.
I have never met a happy, tight-fisted person. A servant spirit makes a person very, very valuable. A generous spirit is a Christ-like spirit. He gave himself totally and completely to us. The Bible says “Give and it shall be given to you” not ‘hold – hold it, hoard it, and hide it…’ (*wink*)
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38
You’ll find that people who are generous are often patient, kind, tenderhearted and have a deep reverence for the Lord. You don’t have to have much to give. You just have to have a sincere heart that deeply loves the Lord.
He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs.
“Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do.”
That which is obtained through unrighteous and ungoldy means is not of God.
