One of the most beautiful things about Christmas is found in carols and hymns that we sing. Christmas carols have an amazing ability to awaken the excitement in our hearts to the birth of our Savior and move our souls with the deep truths that they sing.
One particularly soulful hymn is “O Holy Night.” Friends, this is the reason we celebrate Christmas.
Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:21-23
Christmas is about the birth of Jesus Christ. God’s son, came down in human form, and was born in a stable in Bethlehem.
Take a moment to reflect on the words of this beautiful song:
Oh Holy Night
The Stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Til he appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope
The weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
If you’re feeling the weariness of which this song speaks, I encourage you to seek the One of whom it sings. Jesus is the hope that thrills our hearts and causes weary souls to rejoice.
